Day 1 - Depart from the U.S.
Board your overnight flight to Cairo, Egypt.
Day 2 - Cairo
Welcome to Cairo, the capital of Egypt! Upon arrival, you will clear customs with the help of our representative. Your private driver will be waiting at the passenger pick up. It will take an hour to drive from the airport to your hotel. Check into your hotel and the rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 3 - Cairo
Today, drive to Memphis first to visit this ancient capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom. Then, see the Step Pyramid of Saqqara. Finally is the highlight of the day. You'll explore the most iconic sights of Egypt - the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, which have stood for over 4500 years. For an additional charge, you may be able to go inside the Grand Pyramids.
Day 4 - Cairo
This morning step into the Egyptian Museum. Through and plenty of cultural relics, the huge statues, the gleaming jewelry, you can imagine the glory of the pharaoh. Later, proceed to Old Cairo to visit the Citadel of Salah El-Din and the Muhammad Ali Mosque. After that blend into the bustle of Khan El Khalili Bazaar to feel the flavor of local life.
Day 5 - Aswan, Nile River Cruise
After breakfast, you will fly to Aswan and then be transferred to embark on your boat. After settling into your cabin, disembark for a guided trip to the High Dam and the Temple of Philae. Later in the afternoon, you will take an Egyptian Felucca to sail on the Nile, passing by the Elephantine Island, and step ashore the Botanical Gardens on the Kitchener Island.
Day 6 - Nile River Cruise
Today is your second day of Nile Cruise. You will have a shore excursion to the Greco-Roman Sobek Temple when sailing through Kom Ombo. The ship will stop at Edfu, where you can visit the Temple of Horus (also known as the Temple of Edfu).
Day 7 - Nile River Cruise
The ship will continue to cruise to Luxor. Upon arrival disembark to the west bank for a shore excursion. The tour concludes the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens and the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut. On the way, you can stop and take nice pictures with the huge Colossi of Memnon.
Day 8 - Luxor/Cairo
This morning you will visit two famed temples in Luxor, the Temples of Karnak and Luxor Temple. Both of them are situated on the east bank of Nile and connected by Avenue of Sphinx. Your private guide will lead you to pass through the most important parts of the temples. After the tour, catch your flight to Cairo for overnight.
Day 9 - Cairo/Jerash/Amman
This morning you will depart from Egypt to Amman, the capital of Jordan. Upon arrival you will clear customs with the help of our representative and then be escorted to your hotel by your private driver. After a short break, start your exploration to Jerash, where you can see the well-preserved Roman ruins. Return to the city downtown and continue your tour to the Citadel, the Roman Theater, the Archeological Museum and the Folklore Museum.
Day 10 - Petra
This morning, you will transfer to the "lost" city of Petra! This city is located amongst rugged desert canyons and mountains. Enjoy a walking tour of the former capital and trading center. Your first stop will be a visit to the Siq, a mile-long gorge that contains a number of magnificent structures that are carved into the mountains. The walk will culminate with a visit to the Petra Museum. The Museum holds numerous artifacts from the Neolithic period of the Nabataean history. The museum also contains architecture from the Romans as well as, a Byzantine chapel. Spend this afternoon at your own leisure; feel free to shop, relax or rest before dinner and an overnight in Petra.
Day 11 - Petra - Kerak - Madaba - Mt. Nebo - Amman
Today, after breakfast travel to the Castle of Kerak; the largest castle among mountain-top crusaders. Following this visit, transfer to the "City of Mosaics," Madaba. While in this city, you will visit St. George's Church, home to a true treasure of Christianity. This Church houses the oldest map of the Holy Land which includes Israel, Palestine, and Southern Egypt. Later, visit Mt. Nebo, the most revered holy sites of Jordan. This mountain was mentioned in Deuteronomy 34, "Then Moses climbed Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab to the top of Pisgah." While here, you will tour the Holy site where Moses died and was buried. Following your visit to this Sacred place, return to Amman before dinner and an overnight.
Day 12 - Depart Amman
After an early breakfast and transfer to Amman airport for return flights home.
